Pvc Waterstops

PVC Waterstops are manufactured by a compound which is shaped by extruders and operates under an acceptable warmth with pressure. It contains different catalisators, stabilizer, dyestuff, stiffener and plasticizers. 

Waterstops are manufactured in accordance with T.S.E certificated TS.3078, Conform BS, ASTM, DIN standarts.

Beside the provision of clipses required for the connection of waterstops to the equipment, in case as special request, it is possible to manufacture every type of waterstop with holes one each side in every 50cms.

Placement of PVC Plastic Waterstops : 

 

The front moulds made for the first stage concrete casting should be in two pieces and the waterstops should be placed in between. Single piece moulds should be avoided in order to prevent the waterstops which should stay in the second stage of concrete to return into the first stage casting. Waterstops should be perfectly enveloped by concrete for exact waterproofing. Concrete should be at proper degree of consistency. Cating should be made step by step and vibration should be applied to avoid air - pockets around waterstop. The surface of waters should be cleared of dust and mortar to ensure a strong adherence with concrete. Prior to second stage concrete casting, care must be taken in order to avoid contamination of the other face of waterstops with mortar. If necessary, it should be cleaned by a brass wire brush.  

 

Storage of PVC Plastic Waterstops : 

 

Storage should be at indoor areas, far away from direct sunlight, rain and snow. Contact with oil and bitumes should be avoided. Special pieces should not be stocked one on top of the other. 

 

Connection of PVC Plastic Waterstops : 

 

Since PVC Waterstops are manufactured from thermoplastic material, they are welded by hot welding. In simple and small works, special PVC glue can also be used. During the connection and placement of waterstops and constructional location applications such as nailing down nails or passing wires by making holes which damage waterstops or which destroy the feature of waterproofing should not be allowed. However, in order to assamble waterstops within the regions and measurement as determined in the project, additional equipment can be used if necessary and for those which have connection wire or nail and/or those which do not have connection flange clips can be used.  

 

Devices : 

 

  • Welding machine, made of copper or brass with minimum thickness 5mm. Adequate for heating thermostatically with electricity or with butane gas burner

  • Wire Brush

  • Sharp Knife

  • Welding Mould that made of wood or aluminium

 

Application : 

 

  • The corresponding ends of waterstops to be welded are cut ver near. Both parts are placed in welding mould.

  • In the meantime, attention should be paid to get the front faces of both parts apply properly. If welding lama is of the type which is heated by electricity, after being cleaned with wire brush, it is heated up to 160 C - 170 C, and if it is of the type which is heated butane gas, then it is heated up to 200 C-230C

  • Welding lama which has reached the appropriate temperature is placed between the front faces of two bands and wait until the ends of two parts which remain in the mould melt. 

  • After the waterstops melt sufficiently, the mould is opened and the lama is taken out. The mould is promptly and quickly compressed pressing the front faces of waterstops. 

  • Wait for some time for the connection place in order to cool during process, the temperature should not exceed the value mentioned above. Since PVC may burn at high temperatures, the connection will not be well, enough.
